Description of Significance THE MCCRISTY-KNOX MANSION IN ENID WAS BUILT IN 1909 AND IS AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF NEO-CLASSICAL ARCHITECTURE IN THE ENID AREA. BUILT BY R.W. SHAW, NOTED LOCAL ARCHITECT, THE HOUSE FEATURES CLASSICAL WOOD COLUMNS WITH IONIC CAPITALS, PILASTER STRIPS DEFINING THE CORNERS, AND LIMESTONE ARCHES. ITS ARCHITECTURAL INTEGRITY HAS REMAINED INTACT FOR ALMOST A CENTURY. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 3/24/87.
